KIKI - Death of a Daisy & Birth of an Oyster

While placing another album order at Big Romantic Records, I figured I might as well make it’s trek across the ocean worthwhile and find another album or two to keep it company. Browsing the artist page I found KIKI which sounded familiar. I’m pretty sure one of the algorithms suggested them to me at some point but I never gave them an honest listen. After a cursory review of their bandcamp I decided to pick up both Death of a Daisy & Birth of an Oyster and POST-EXISTENTIAL CRISIS.

I’ve been a bit busy with some family stuff and the holidays so have been slow to process my new arrivals but finally got to give this a listen last night and really enjoyed the album! It’s synth pop and bit more on the pop side then I would normally lean towards but also not entirely unlike, say Strfkr, but with a female lead. I find it funny that in alphabetical order (by artist) it sits next to a copy of The Locust’s - Safety Second, Body Last on my shelf. Quite the contrast!

I’m running out of different ways to take pictures of record sleeves!
